The college student's lightbox.


I worked for about an hour and a half on this yesterday (after I found everything). It was inspired by Strobist. Everything you see there I found around my house. The sides are made of tissue paper, and I have taped velcro strips to the inside so that I can use cloth pieces after I get everything set up.



As of today (6/17) I have purchased some posterboard which works MUCH better than the sheet I was testing with yesterday. I also grabbed some white poster paint while I was at the craft store and I plan on painting the inside of the flaps, at the very least. Eventually I also want to replace the lamp on the right with one similar to the one on the left.



You'll see in today's picture that I've tested it already. Beyond painting the flaps, I am considering trying brighter bulbs (if my lamps will take them). Someone on Strobist's post mentioned that they put white foam/poster board on the top on the inside to better reflect the light. I am stuck between whether I should do this, or purchase a cheap taller lamp to add some lighting from the top window. Any ideas?

Day fourrrrr of my simple pleasures.

Today's topic: Sleeping in

Which, ironically, I didn't actually do today. This picture was taken at about 6:45 a.m., just after I had convinced myself that a college education is more important than getting a full 8 hours of sleep. But I felt the need to appreciate those mornings that I get to sleep in.

I absolutely love lying in bed in the warm covers (I'm always cold) and waking up slowly. It's such a great way to wake up, especially when compared with those mornings that you get shocked out of bed by the alarm clock and have to step out into a cold room.

It's even better if the boyfriend is asleep beside me. :)

I have a car bed! It's not a firetruck, though.

This was a picture I took the morning before I found out about Project 365. My dad was taking apart my Taurus to fix the heating system (it works now!). He and my brother thought it would be funny to put my car on my bed.
