02 August 2009 - RIP
My camera died today.
Keith and I went to the river again, and I left my camera in my bag without thinking. And you know how sand loves to go places it shouldn't? Well apparently my camera's lens is one of those places.
It now makes terrible noises and the lens repeatedly goes in and out while the camera makes beeping noises. Buying a new camera will be cheaper than repairing my poor FE-280 :(
And yes, to be totally honest, I did cry. I LOVED that camera. It's small enough to fit into my pockets (which are tight) and my purse (which is crowded).
Luckily, Tom still has my old camera (Olympus Fe-115) from like 5 years ago, and I was so upset that he went and found it for me tonight. My brother is, obviously, made of awesome.
This also means I'll still be able to at least update my project until I figure something out.
The 115 does take good pictures, it really does. I'm just going to miss the 1" bigger LCD screen that my 280 had. :(
And a reliable battery supply. The 115 takes AA's, and the battery compartment is broken so I have to rely on tape to keep it closed. AND keep rechargeable batteries with me at all times, because the die quickly.
I feel like I just lost a pet or something.

Aw, that totally sucks. And I would have cried too if my camera broke. I was sticking mine out the window the other day to take a pic and the wind was blowing a lot more than I was expecting and I almost lost it. I almost cried just cause of that. Lol. I hope you can find a good camera for a good price... Look around on Ebay. That worked for me. =)
I ended up getting a totally awesome deal at work (hooray for knowing how to work the system!!). I got the same camera you have, lol :D
I can't wait until tomorrow when I'll have the time to play around with it!
